⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five-Star Rated Implant Dentists

Sedation options for particularly nervous, anxious and phobic patients.

Going to the dentist is not everyone’s cup of tea

Fear of the dentist is actually completely normal and extreme fear or dental phobia may exist. Extreme fear or phobia usually is due to an experience from childhood or even into adulthood.

When we talk to our patients about this, we often hear stories of the school dentist or having a great big mask put over your face as a child so that you could have your teeth removed and wake up with a mouth full of blood. No wonder you fear dental treatment if you’ve had such an experience as a child!

Other experiences that may elicit a phobia are painful treatment from a previous dentist, treatment gone wrong or any bad experience.

General anxiety

Now even if you don’t have an extreme phobia, you probably have some degree of anxiety when going to the dentist, especially if it’s a new dentist and even more so if you are considering having comprehensive treatment.

This anxiety would more than likely be due to the fear of the procedure, worry about the final results, worry about feeling embarrassed about your smile and condition of your teeth.

We are fully aware of all of your potential concerns and rest assured we will endeavour to recognise these concerns every step of the way. We want to know as early as possible what your concerns are so that we can tailor our approach to your care.

We really do understand how you feel and many of our patients have felt exactly the same way before coming to see us. However, they have found that our approach helps alleviate their anxiety and fear.

Let us help you with your dental anxiety

We recognise that many people need further help with their fears and anxieties. Read our reviews. There are a few methods to help you deal further with this.

Solutions: we can prescribe you oral anxiolytics similar to valium to help you, and many patients find this extremely effective. Furthermore, we work closely with a team of consultant anaesthetists who can come to your visit and administer sedation through a vein, to completely relax you, making you totally unaware of your procedure.

The added benefit would be that you would have no memory of the implant procedure whatsoever. This is an enormous help to those who feel they just can’t cope with any dental implant treatment.
