Specialist Gum Disease, Gingivitis & Periodontal Disease Treatments
Our professional hygienists treat patients from Weymouth and the nearby towns and home counties.
Gum Disease is largely caused by plaque. The disease can become more damaging over time and develop into a more severe periodontal disease.
Once you enter this stage, you can expect teeth to start becoming loose and ultimately falling out.
This happens as your gums begin to form pockets and the bone in your jaw recedes.
Dorset Dental takes gum disease very seriously.
First, we will look at the source of the problem and devise a treatment plan to reverse the disease and prevent bacteria from growing.

Is gum disease reversible?
The first stage of gum disease is Gingivitis, which is easier to reverse. To eradicate, all that will need to be done is a rigorous daily cleaning routine and regular visits to hygienist.
More serious forms of the disease like periodontal disease can be a bit more difficult to reverse. This is because pockets begin to form and the jawbone begins to recede, which can result in wobbly teeth and tooth loss.
