All-on-Six Dental Implants: which implant is right for me?

Dorset Dental Implants are one of the best providers of dental implants in the southwest of England.

Many of our patients are referred to us from other credible dental clinics in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Ferndown.

The all-on-6 dental procedure is the best solution for patients with enough bone structure in the jaw.

“It creates a permanent prosthesis by using six dental implants. It acts as an anchor for a bridge or over-denture.”

The All-on-6 is a variation of the All-on-4 technique based on the same concept, but instead of four, it uses six implants placed in areas of the mouth with the highest bone volume.

This treatment is designed for patients with enough bone structure and is an alternative to traditional dental implants because it maximises bone potential.

  • All on Six has advantages over All on Four as more strength and stability are provided for your jawbone with the additional implants.
  • All on 6 dentures can last up to 20 years.
  • Stops dentures move around.
  • Prices from £16,000.

Many of our patients find All on Six results in a more comfortable, tighter denture fit as the downward pressure when you bite down is dispersed more evenly.

Implants can prevent further bone loss.

Even though dental implants are often used to replace individual teeth, they can also be used as an anchor for new or existing dentures.

The longer the teeth have been missing from the jaw, the worse it can be for oral health.

Bone loss frequently brings several issues to patients, such as gum irritation, eating or speaking problems, and many more.

In many cases, bone grafting or bone regeneration is often necessary before implants are placed.

However, All on 6 uses only six implants to anchor your denture where the bone is the strongest.

Therefore, when using the All-on-6 technique, bone grafting is rarely required.

Replace unreliable dentures

Traditional dentures are often uncomfortable for the wearer and cause many embarrassing incidents.

The inexpensive option has been a popular one for patients with missing teeth in the past.

However, leaving gaps in the mouth untreated will likely cause significant problems later down the line.

Dentures often cause problems with the gum and the mouth, becoming irritated, swollen or inflamed.

This can increase the chances of mouth infections, which can easily appear as loose dentures move freely in your mouth, causing difficulties when eating and speaking.

According to an expert restorative dentist, Dr Philip McCauley, dental implants are more reliable, stable, and permanent.

All-on-Four vs All-on-Six: What’s the difference?

The most significant difference is that two extra implants are fitted with All-on-Six.

This offers the patient increased strength and stability.

The pressure and bite down are distributed more eveaddingding in two additional implants.

Many of our patients have reported that it contributed to a more comfortable and longer-lasting smile.

Can I get standard dental implants?

Whilst dental implants are a great solution for patients looking to replace missing teeth, restore their confidence and strengthen their oral health, they are not suitable for everyone.

Some patients may not be suitable candidates for dental implants. However, this greatly depends on their oral health and hygiene state and condition.

As adequate bone structure is required in the jaw to support the implant, patients who have lost a significant amount of bone need a bone graft.

If you do not have enough bone in your jaw, there are many safe and effective ways to correct bone deficiency.

After treatment, your periodontist will thoroughly work with you and your dentist to develop the most suitable plan.
